Behind FRILISA and ÄTELIER is a family whose love of design and tailoring has been passed down through generations.
Larissa Fromm, a fashion designer trained at Berlin University of the Arts, shapes the creative direction. Polina Schneider brings a wealth of experience and pattern-cutting expertise to their work together.
These perspectives come together every day at Uhlandstraße 130. This is where we listen, design, fit and refine.
Our clients include a Nobel laureate, a former President of Germany and figures from the arts and cultural life. Discretion and personal attention are integral to everything we do.

Before your visit.
How are FRILISA and ÄTELIER by FRILISA connected?+
FRILISA is our independent couture house, creating individual designs and personal commissions. ÄTELIER by FRILISA complements this work with alterations, made-to-measure clothing and garment reworking. Both share a commitment to design and craftsmanship in our Berlin atelier.
What can I commission from FRILISA?+
FRILISA designs and makes bridal gowns, evening dresses, cocktail dresses and clothing for performances and special occasions. We also welcome commissions for workwear and everyday wardrobes. We discuss the cut, fabric and details with you during a personal consultation.
Can you alter a bridal gown or evening dress I already own?+
Yes. At ÄTELIER by FRILISA, we assess the fit of your dress and discuss the alterations available, such as adjusting the length, bodice or silhouette. What is possible depends on its cut, fabric and construction.
Can a wedding gown be reworked into an evening dress?+
We would be delighted to explore ways to wear your wedding gown again. Depending on its fabric and construction, we may be able to change the length, sleeves or silhouette. We can advise on the options once we have seen your dress.
Where is the atelier, and how do I arrange a visit?+
You will find us at Uhlandstraße 130, 10717 Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Consultations and fittings are by appointment. Please email my@atelier.berlin with a little about your plans and, if you are preparing for an occasion, the date by which you will need your outfit.
How do you agree on costs and timing?+
After an initial conversation and, where relevant, seeing your garment, we discuss the work involved, the cost and the schedule. For a new commission, design and fabric selection are followed by fittings. For alterations, we plan the work around the needs of your garment.
